    Discuss Dryden's use of satire in Absalom and Achitophel.  Who is the target of Dryden's satire?  Does the poem present a satiric norm?  If so, discuss its role in the structure of the poem.  What, finally, did Dryden hope to achieve by writing the poem? 

    Append a bibliography to your paper.  Make sure that quotations from the poem are accompanied by line numbers and that any material taken from other sources is documented accordingly.
