LIBRARY TOUR - AN ONLINE VIEW OF FEINBERG LIBRARY

As you enter the Library on the Main/Podium level, the first thing you see is the Main Service Desk.

Library Main Level Lobby

What is this Desk for?  Asking directions, help with reserve materials and any other question you have.  If they don't know the answer, they'll direct you to someone who does.  You can borrow books or DVD's, get print reserve materials or pick up a book you've requested on interlibrary loan.  For more information on these services, read Library Policies

Behind the blue furniture is an exhibit case. You can find out more including how to request space for an exhibit on the Exhibits @ Feinberg page.  Check out the current display and look for other displays inside the Library.

You enter the Library through a set of security gates.  The counter on the right has two computers where you can check what's on electronic reserves.  Most reserve material is now available via the Web by going to the Library Home page,  www.plattsburgh.edu/library, and clicking on Readings for Courses  under Quick Links..  You need a special password to access reserve material for a course.  The password is only available from your instructor.

On to your right once you've entered the Library, you'll see a large pillar.  Behind it is a photocopier that takes Cardinal Cash as well as regular money.  There is another photocopier on the 3rd floor.  There are also microfilm and microfiche copiers on the 3rd floor.
The bookcase holds books the Library is featuring on specific topics, often related to our exhibits.

On your left,  you'll see more wooden bookshelves. Look here for New Books and a Browse collection of "good reads" and bestsellers.  There are comfortable chairs to sit in while you browse the books on these shelves.  You may also borrow any of them to read at home or in your dorm
