JOURNALS AtoZ:  A GUIDE

What It Is:
AtoZ is a directory providing access to journal titles that Feinberg Library provides in full-text through subscriptions or within licensed full-text digital resources. AtoZ provides searching by individual journal titles or browsing though alphabetical lists of journals with full-text content.  For each journal title, there is a link to the digital resource containing full-text content, as well as information on the date range available in full-text.  The links connect either to a search screen within a database or to a linked list of full-text articles from a particular journal.  AtoZ also lists all current print subscriptions, indicated by a book icon .  AtoZ is updated daily.

How To Use It:
Step 1:  Identify the exact title of the journal you wish to find in full-text.  Also note the date of the article you want to retrieve.  You may also just use some words in the title or click the Subjects tab to browse journal titles by subject.

Step 2:  Access Journals AtoZ from the Library Home page, under Electronic Periodicals.

Step 3: In the Find: box,, enter the exact journal title or some of the words from the title. You may also browse all the titles beginning with a certain letter by clicking on the letter listing below the search box, but it's not recommended.

Step 4: If full-text is available for the journal title you searched, the following will appear on your screen.  In this example, the print subscription is listed above the online options.  Since the last two years of the journal are not available online (embargo), you can find current issues on the third floor of Feinberg Library.

Other Search Options:

The Advanced Search option allows you to search by journal title, publisher or ISSN (a unique number assigned to a journal).  Choosing the Subjects tab gives you a list of all journal titles by broad subject categories.

If you get an error message after clicking on the link, go back to the Library’s Home page, click on the Alphabetical Database Menu, go to the database identified in AtoZ and search for the journal title on the search screen.  There is often a separate box to enter the journal title.
