Associations in any field offer a wealth of information, often available to non-members, on their area of interest and expertise.  Some of the more important educational associations which maintain websites are listed below with links to the association's homepage.

To search for additional associations, use Google Advanced Search.  Type in words that describe the association (or words you know from the association's name) and limit to web pages where the Domain is .org.

New York State Technology Education Association for technology teachers in New York State and beyond

International Society for Technology in Education  For teachers, administrators and educational technology leaders interested in improving K-12 education through use of informational technologies.

International Reading Association  For teachers, parents and others interested in developing high levels of literacy through instruction, research and lifelong learning.

National Art Education Association     For teachers of art at all levels, serves as a clearinghouse for information on art education programs, materials and methods of teaching.

National Association of Biology Teachers  For teachers of biology and life sciences at all levels.

National Association for The Education of Young Children   For all interested in the needs and rights of young children, its primary focus is to provide educational services and resources.
National Council for the Social Studies  For teachers of social studies subjects at all levels, provides links to the NCSS databank of social studies resources, and other useful internet resources.

National Council of Teachers of English  For teachers of english at all levels, provides information for teachers creating objectives, curriculum guides, etc.
National Institute for Early Education Research For policy makers, journalists, researchers and educators, provides independent, research based information on early childhood education.

American Association of Teachers of French For teachers of french at all levels.
American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese  For teachers of both languages at all levels.

Council for Exceptional Children.  For teachers of students with special needs and for teachers of the gifted.

National Science Teachers Association.  For teachers of science at all educational levels.
National Association for Gifted Children For teachers, parents and all interested in the field of education of the gifted.

MENC:National Association for Music Education.  For teachers of music at all educational levels.
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development  An international organization devoted to the support of educators in all areas of the profession.
