Personal:

I grew up in the New York metropolitan area and went  to UC Berkeley for my BA.  After a few years overseas as a banker/waiter/professional jazz musician I returned to my native New York to do my MFA at Brooklyn College.  I then went to Europe to lecture at the University of Debrecen´s Institute of English and American Studies as a Fulbright Scholar where I helped found the journal Kossuth Review.   I have also participated in the Intercountry Fulbright Lecturer series in American Literature to the University in Tromsø in Norway (the world´s northernmost university), and, in pedagogy, to Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

However far afield, there´s no place quite like Plattsburgh, where I´m thrice blessed in my students, my colleagues and the lovely wilderness surroundings.
