Goodby Exams, but I'll be around
Yes, its true! I have graded my last exam. I met my last class just before Christmas, 2000. I began tilling the vinyard here at Plattsburgh in 1969 and frankly, it doesn't seem all that long ago. Will I miss it? Yes, of course. I won't miss paper grading and a few other things, but I have enjoyed sharing mathematics with others and I expect to find ways to continue to do that.
I was permited to use my office a few months into retirement, but now I have removed my things and have no campus address. However, I have no plans to leave Plattsburgh soon, and will probably get in the habit of taking the seven minute walk to the campus regularly to continue the pleasure of dabbling in mathematics.
So goodbye for now. I'll be out playing in the snow or inside puttering on my computer. DCW
