The Voltage Clamp Amplifier

 

 

 

 

The voltage clamp amplifier is the instument that measures the membrane potentials and curents and relays this information to the PowerLab. It looks something like this:

 

Wow. This is a complicated gizmo. But you don't have to worry about most of it - most of the settings won't change.
