Assessment
Excel is a Microsoft Office
program used to tabulate and display statistical
information. It has two parts:
the spreadsheet and the chart. For this
assessment
please use the JSTOR
data sets that are listed below.

You need to do a couple of things for this assessment:

Use the JSTOR data below for your assessment, entering the data in a spreadsheet
(labeling the columns [months] and rows [years]). You should create a formula
to determine the total number of searches for each year. The library uses a
calendar
year
of June - May for the statistical analysis of data for our divisional annual
report. The data listed below is real, documenting month by month the number
of
searches in
the JSTOR database for the relevant years.

Create a second
spreadsheet that lists only the years and the total number of
searches
for each year.
· Create
a chart that displays the data from the second spreadsheet (the relevant years
and total number of searches for each year). You may create any type of chart
that
you prefer, but you will need to explain what the chart means to you (as if you
were
using the chart in a paper and were explaining the significance of the data in
the chart).
Make sure you label the resulting chart so that
anyone
who views it will be able to
interpret the data in the chart.
After you have saved both the spreadsheets and the chart, email them to me as
attachments. The assignment is due
Friday October 2nd at
midnight.
