Then either scan the titles, as in the display below, or add additional specific terms to your search.

Use the advanced searching option in the catalog to combine terms with Boolean operators AND, OR, NOT
to get more specific results.

Searching for social welfare or social work and child abuse gets you more specific book resources as in the display below.

Search for articles online as you searched for books by combining the specific concepts you are looking for with Boolean articles.
Try these databases to start: 
Social Sciences Abstracts: Indexes major social science journals from 1983 to present.
Sociological Abstracts: Indexes major social science journals from 1983 to present.

Many journals, including Social Work, Child and Adolescent Social Work Journal, Health and Social Work, Journal of Multicultural Social Work and Social Work Research are also available full-text in the databases. You can search by subject OR look through the tables of contents for these journals.
