Requirements

Homeworks. About 7 programming assignments.

Quizzes: About 7 quizzes. You can prepare index cards with essential information and use them during the quiz.

Midterm Test: March 23. The test will be cumulative -- it will cover all the material from the beginning of the semester.  During the midterm you can use two sheets of notes.

Final Exam will be cumulative -- will cover all the material discussed in the course. For the date of the exam see the final week schedule for the entire college.  During the final you can use three sheets of notes.

All the text handed in to the instructor (quizzes, assignments, etc.) will be evaluated not only for merits but also for clarity of presentation and style.

Grading

While calculating the final grade the instructor will disregard one lowest grade for a quiz and one lowest grade for a homework assignment, however a poor grade for the final exam may bring the final grade down, at the discretion of the instructor.

Calculation of final grade

Quizzes and homeworks 60%
Midterm test 20%
Final exam 20%
Active participation will count, too.
