New York State Education Law

Mandatory.  Must be completed prior to student teaching.

 

  • Fingerprinting packets are available at the Office of Field Experience and Student  Teaching.  For more information, please go to: http://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/ospra/ 

  • You need to be aware of and comply with various policies and procedures of your assigned district.  For example:

    • Schenectady CSD:

      • "Beginning with 2009 placements, the Schenectady City School District is requiring that all students placed for student teaching/intern assignments within the Schenectady City School District provide us with evidence that they have been cleared by the New York State or provide us with their social security number so that we may access the TEACH Online system and verify their clearance. When potential students are matched with a SCSD teacher, please send us copies of their clearance information or their social security  number for us to verify clearance,  Once clearance has been verified, the SCSD will confirm final placement."
    • For students placed  in New York City.  In addition to going through the NYSED fingerprinting process, you will need to fill out two additional forms:
