The 3 meter dish

The 3 meter radio telescope operates at 4.2 GHz (it's an old satellite TV dish) but we intend to acquire a hydrogen line (1.42 GHz) spectrometer soon to study the concentrations of hydrogen in our galaxy.  Present work is on the solar and atmospheric signal at 4.2 GHz.  Recent intense solar flares and eruptions are making the research very interesting indeed.

Watch this space for links to our latest results.  Shown is a recent X class flare. Click on it for a larger image.
