You are encouraged to read the following material in the days before the date indicated.

You will need to register with your personal password (comes with your text). You will find a wealth of information, help, worked examples, and my homework assignments on this site. You must familiarize yourself with it as soon as possible.

Read each section of the text ahead of the assigned class date (see schedule).

This means, for Monday, August 23th., you should have read, in Volume 1, Preface to the Student, Chapter 1, and visited the website above and registered.
