Introduction

My broad interest is American Cultural and Social History, with a special interest in both American and European Architectural History.  My recent research has focused on nineteenth-century architecture, specifically churches, cathedrals, and institutional structures commissioned by the Roman Catholic Church in the United States.  My academic interests however are many and varied, including issues related to gender, ethnicity, race, and popular culture to name a few, and I have taught both general and specialized courses in American and European History.  The purpose of this website is primarily to highlight my research interests for the benefit of other scholars, and to provide some useful information and web-related links for students enrolled in my courses at Plattsburgh State University.
