The information on the pages which follow provides a brief overview
of nineteenth-century Roman Catholic ecclesiastical and institutional
architecture in the United States for others who may share this interest.
Concise biographical sketches are provided for many of the architects typically
employed on these church sponsored projects. The subsequent photographic
archive illustrates representative examples demonstrating the stylistic variety
of churches designed by several of nineteenth-century America's more prolific
Roman Catholic ecclesiastical architects. Finally, a list of a few links
to architectural history resources is also provided to direct researches to
other sites of possible interest. |
