| These are Plattsburgh faculty photos from over the years. It is hard to tell because of the sad little comb-over, but I think I had more hair when I started at Plattsburgh than I did at the end. | ||||

| While earning my doctorate, I also became a wildlife cameraperson, under the tutelage of my dissertation supervisor, Niko Tinbergen. | The last film. Being filmed with Niko by Yorkshire TV for a film about sheepdogs near the village of Dufton, England. Dufton became my home for three years. |

| Teaching in the early years. | A different kind of teaching. A lively discussion around a campfire at one of the summer field classes that I had the privilege to teach. |

| In 1987 I rode my bike from California to Maine. The last few days my friend Matt Merrens rode with me. He took this picture of me at the fitness peak of my whole life (so far.) | One year I decided to try to swim 200 miles in the college pool. My advice: don't do it. My friend Bob Harsh gave me the T shirt. |

| Me i n the ducking booth at one of the campus fairs. Some years the water was freezing cold. | The Residence Staff association brought me to tears by dedicating a tree to me in front of my undergraduate home, Macdonough Hall. |

| For years I shared coordination of the Freshman Experience Program with Cheryl Hogle. One of the many things we did with freshmen was to take them climbing in the Adirondack Mountains. This is a group of us at the top of Giant Mountain. | One of the best things about Plattsburgh was all the wonderful colleagues. This is me with Tom Moran (speak no evil--a difficult role for him) and Stu Baum (see no evil). |

| In 1989 I went to the Congo to take pictures for a book that was being wirtten by my friend Redmond O'Hanlon. The book is titled No Mercy. In it, Redmond portrayed me as much nicer than I am. | This was one of my early welding projects: a ceremonial candelabrum for the Plattsburgh Chapter of the National Honor Society ODK. The Greek letters are made of solid 3/4 inch square steel stock. Bending the "O" was a very significant challenge. The photo is by my friend Robin Brown, who is an amazingly talented professional photographer. |

| Me with one year's edition of the cream of the crop: a group of New Student Summer Orientation leaders and Cheryl Hogle, far right. It was a great honor for me to work with The Orientation Program staff for many years. | The Black Minorca Books logo. Black Minorca was a fake publisher that Matt Merrens and I fabricated for custom-published trial versions of our books. |
