New York State Resources  for Parents of Children with Disabilities and Special Health Care Needs:

Behavioral Health Services North: BHSN provides education, advocacy, information and referral to the community on all behavioral health issues. Offices located at 159 Margaret Street, Suite 201, in downtown Plattsburgh, NY. 

Families Together in New York State, Inc.: A non-profit, parent-run organization that strives to establish a unified voice for children with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. Their mission is to ensure that every family has access to needed information, support, and services.

Fletcher Allen Health Care: Information on the variety of health care services Fletcher Allen Health Care provides including services for children with special needs (e.g. ADHD).

New York State Office of Children and Family Services: Provides information on County Departments of Social Services in New York State.

Parent to ParentProvides information on support services available to New York families of individuals with disabilities and special health needs.

Plattsburgh State University Clinics and Services: Provides information about clinics located at Plattsburgh State University including the Traumatic Brain Injury Center, Neuropsychology Clinic and Psychoeducational Services, Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center (ADAC).

KidSpace @ The Internet Public Library: KidSpace is a part of the web pages provided byThe Internet Public Library (IPL), which describes itself as a public service organization and learning/teaching environment at the University of Michigan School of Information.

The Parents Journal: The Parent's Journal is a weekly national radio series for parents, grandparents, and others who care for children that is designed to help parents understand how children develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. The program shares information from renowned authors, leading child psychologists, child development experts, and real parents on a variety of contemporary parenting issues such as kids and sports, discipline, childcare, sleep problems, temper tantrums, and homework hassles.
