FirstSearch (OCLC) Databases

Importing records from FirstSearch:

These instructions assume that EndNote software and your EndNote library are already on your computer.

Once you have conducted your search in the database:

1. Mark the references you wish to export

2. Click Export (near the top of screen)

3. In the Export Screen: Choose Export marked records from this search & select EndNote and click the Export button

4. A File Download  box will appear. Select the Open button.

5. EndNote will open and prompt you to select a library where these references will be kept.

6. You will be prompted to select an import filter. Choose the filter that matches the name of the database you are searching and includes "(OCLC)." To select it double click on the database title.

7. Your references should now appear in the EndNote Library.

8. To view all records, go to the References menu and select Show All References.
