General Genetics

The General Genetics course will present an overview of the major concepts in genetics. Topics include: Mendelian genetics, gene interactions, linkage and chromosome mapping, mutations, inheritance and molecular biology.
The course meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12-12:50 pm in lecture in Room 106, Hudson Hall. The lab sections meet on Tuesday (1:30-4:20pm) Wednesday (2:00-4:50pm) and Thursday (1:30pm - 4:20pm).
The laboratory sections meet in the genetics teaching lab in Room 302 Beaumont Hall.
Course Texts: iGenetics: A Molecular Approach by Peter J. Russell. The supplemental reading will be posted on ANGEL. You will have questions to address and answer concerning ethical issues that are raised in each of the posted articles.
Lab Manual: Information will be provided by Dr. Nancy L. Elwess and Mrs. Sandra Latourelle.
