Concepts in Biology (Bio 100/103) provides a general introduction to the science of biology. It is intended for students who are not planning to major in biology. Biology is a rapidly developing field and every day new discoveries are made that have the potential to profoundly affect all of our lives. Clearly, it is desirable that educated citizens be able to understand these developments. Hence, the aim of the course is to provide the non-specialist with sufficient understanding of the fundamental principles of biology that he or she can evaluate issues in biology with intelligence and insight.
