**Notes to Candidates in All Sections**

FALL 2005 SEMESTER

11/21/05  -  This message concerns disk submission:

When you submit projects on a floppy disk, please check the Properties in order to determine how much space is available on the floppy.  If there is limited space, I will not be able to provide extensive feedback.  The problem that is occurring is that some of the disks contain large files, such a PowerPoint presentations, that use a great deal of space on the disk.

Please do not include work for other classes on the disk that you submit to me.  First, I do not want to have access to that work.  Second, I do not want to scan down a large number of files in order to find the work I need to evaluate.

The second problem with the disks and CD being submitted is that the work is not in folders!  If you want me to evaluate your work, please follow the directions and create folders.

Please re-read the directions (below) for submitting a CD, which I have posted on 10/13/05.

*****************

10/13/05 - I am providing instructions for submitting work on a CD.  As of Monday, 10/17/05, any CD's that are submitted must be correctly formatted.  I will not evaluate any work submitted on non-formatted CD's, and you will have points deducted from your grade.

    1.    The CD must be a CD-RW.

    2.    The CD must be formatted before any files are saved to the CD.

    3.    Your computer must have CD formatting software installed in order for you to format the CD.  If you cannot format the CD-RW on your computer, there are three choices:

            a.    You can do it on one of the computers on campus that does have the appropriate software.

            b.    You can save your files on pre-formatted floppy disks.

            c.    You can purchase an "at-cost" formatted CD-RW from me.  Typically, the cost will be about $1.50.

    4.    If the CD-RW is not formatted, files are saved as Read-only, which means that I cannot provide comments and feedback on the assignment.

10/22/05 -  I have subscribed to DSL offered through Verizon.  My new contact e-mail address for candidates is -

            drpegsclasses@verizon.net

I will now be able to download attachments faster : -).  I will keep my frontiernet address for about three weeks in order to facilitate the change over.
