The Brontės were all fans of Bewick, as is evident from the copies of Bewick's illustrations that emerged from the Haworth Parsonage. It's also evident in the rather lengthy quotation from Bewick's History of British Birds, the volume which gets flung at Jane Eyre by John Reed in Jane Eyre's opening chapter.
The parrot under glass, illustrated here, comes from the King's Landing historical settlement in New Brunswick, Canada. It's a relic of which Bewick would have approved.
