Research Activities and Interests:
Current research is focussed on the development and evaluation of computer mediated and
computer managed instruction, with particular emphasis on the design and delivery of
instructional materials and experiences in introductory psychology.
A secondary research interest involves the identification of sources of individual
differences in knowledge representation and processing. Of particular interest are sources
of individual variation in contributing to positive transfer in learning and problem
solving tasks.
Other interests include: Presupposition and inference processes in memory, the role of
propositional structure in text comprehension and recall, and the effect of cognitive
style differences on learning and memory.
