AC Distribution Panel

When we decided to add shore power, one necessary decision involved where to install the main AC distribution panel.   The ideal location appeared to be adjacent to the DC distribution panel.    However, on our boat, the DC panel was mounted in the center of the forward end of the galley cupboard and there was no room next to it to add the AC panel.  After some thought, we simply enlarged the original hole for the DC panel so that we could move it inboard a few inches making room for the additional AC panel.   We used part of the wood that was removed while widening the hole in order to fill in below the new AC panel since our AC panel was shorter than the DC panel.    The space below the new AC panel also turned out to be a good place to mount a DC outlet.
