Foot Space Locker

After several years of using the berths in the main cabin for sleeping, we elected to use the V berth instead. This has the advantage of being able to leave the bunk made up as a double bed 100% of the time.   (The addition of the quarter berth storage locker reduced the need to use the V berth for storage).   This meant that the foot well on the port side was no longer needed.  Since it tended to get used for storage anyway,  I removed the cushion, blocked off the hole with a piece of light plywood, and installed a cupboard door next to the original right hand cupboard door under the head sink.   The door itself was built from the piece of wood that was cut out to make the access hole.   All we needed to do was add hinges, molding, and a handle.  We also installed a mid height shelf in both of these lockers.   This provides much needed additional locker space which we use for clothing.
