1) With all panels in place, the "Hornby Locker"
can serve as a chart table.

2) Removing only one top panel (by lifting and sliding it back over the second top panel), allows partial access to the storage area.

3) With both top panels and one front panel removed,
access to the entire storage compartment is possible.

Like many boaters, we generally used the quarter berth as a storage area.   After a few years, we modified this area by removing the cushion and adding front and top panels.  The panels are laminated with formica to match the galley surfaces.  The removable panels required mounting a vertical track in the front and horizontal tracks on the sides.  The track on the outside (against the hull) is part of a small shelf that fits the hull contour (contains the folded chart in picture #2 above.   By removing all four panels and putting the cushion in place, this area can easily revert back to a quarter berth.
