After reading chapter 4 of your text please answer questions 2-4 on pages 71-72. Please remember when answering 2 and 3 that you need to use the disciplines/subjects in the chart on page 66, Figure 4-3

Go to the reference section of the Feinberg Library and look up the subject of schizophrenia in:

• A general reference source--Encyclopedia Americana

• A discipline source--McGraw Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology

• A subject specific source--International Encyclopedia of Psychiatry, Psychology, Psychoanalysis and Neurology.

Then:

1. for each source list the volume and pages where you found the topic.

2. write a short paragraph comparing and contrasting the three sources in their coverage of the topic. What you should compare and contrast is the depth/breadth of coverage, the vocabulary used, the references cited.

3. which source would be best for a quick definition/explanation of the topic if you knew nothing about schizophrenia? explain

4. which source would be best for detailed theoretical information on the disease? explain
