Rick Davies

    Rick Davies is an assistant professor of music at Plattsburgh State University and a professional musician.  He has had an extensive career as a trombonist and arranger/composer and specializes in jazz and Afro-Caribbean music.  Davies is the leader of a Latin jazz ensemble called Jazzismo.  He is also musical director and lead trombonist with the internationally acclaimed Salsa Picante led by pianist Wayne Gorbea.  His academic research has focused primarily on Afro-Cuban and salsa brass playing.
