(Under Construction)

Background and Projects

Introduction

The website originated with a seminar in anthropology at SUNY at Plattsburgh on the influence of technology on society.  Our attempt was to develop a theory of technology that focused on the relationship between technology and economics, and its role in maintaining perpetual economic growth. However, as the projects reveal, this growth can only be maintained at a cost to our environment, our political freedoms, and our patterns of social relations.
