Thanks for your posting. It does, indeed, seem that when we think through many seemingly "essential" gender differences, they often can be traced to social construction. As we discussed, evolutionary differences may at first seem the most essential, but then the research interests and emphases often seem socially selected as well. And, of course, feminists would insist that "biology is not destiny" in any case.
