Coverage:  We will cover most of chapters 1-6, chapter 7: 1,3,4, chapter 13, as well as the review chapter R. 

 

Expectations: 

1)      I hope that you want an "A" and that you will do your best to get it.  Toward that end, I expect you to work honestly and hard and to seek help when you need it.  Ask a lot of questions!

2)      Attendance is expected.

3)      It is expected that all students enrolled in this class support the letter and the spirit of the Academic Honesty Policy as stated in the college catalog.

4)      There will be no make-up exams without either prior arrangement ora documented emergency.  Homework is due at the beginning of class on the day it is due.  Late homework, if graded, will lose points

 

From me, you can expect moral support, compassion, and timely expertise helping you solidify and integrate the new concepts you are encountering.  Please use my office hours.

 

Assessment:  Your grade will depend on several things:

            Homework/presentations                                             40%

            Two mid-term exams (Feb. 23, Apr. 6)                        20% ea.

            Final exam (date to be announced)                               20%

 

     Your final grade will be based on the following scale (which you can use at any time to figure out how your are doing):
