Two Weddings in Mumbai  December 2002

In December 2002, I attended two weddings in Mumbai.The first wedding took place over several days with many ceremonies. This was a marriage between a Muslim groom and a Zoroastrian bride, shown above on the right under the wedding shamiana. The picture on the left above shows my hand decorated with mehendi. 

The second wedding was a Christian wedding celebrated in a Catholic church. Here, the altar was decorated with flowers. The wedding party dressed much like Americans might dress and celebrated at a reception with dancing, food and fireworks.
