CSD 540 Evaluation in Communication Disorders


Course Description
This course is designed for graduate students in training for the profession of speech-language pathology. The course covers issues related to assessment/evaluation of communication disorders. Course topics include roles and responsibilities of SLPs in assessment, gathering case history information, imparting information to parents and clients, comprehensive assessment, informal assessment, standardized tests, psychometric qualities of tests (e.g., validity, reliability), test administration, test interpretation, assessment is specific areas (oral-motor, language, phonology, etc.), multicultural considerations in assessment, making recommendations based on assessment, and report writing.
