Squamates have flexible skulls with moveable joints, and a second joint between the skull and jaw.

2. A sprawling posture limits the animal's size because it is very difficult to support a large, heavy body between sprawled limbs. Animals with sprawled stances also suffer from Carrier's Constraint, so they cannot run and breath at the same time, because as one lung expands the other contracts due to the side to side motion of the body during running.
